Practical Love

The main reason why we are still breathing and alive is love. Remember, it is because of love why God gave His son to save us from our sins (see John 3:16). However, people today become so materialistic, they prefer to choose those people who are wealthy to be their husband or wife. They always reasoned that we need to be practical and choose only those who can supply our needs and pleasure. Yes, it is true that we need to be wise in choosing our partner in life, but we must always consider love as our basis in choosing someone to share with the rest of our lives. Money, cars, and precious gems are not the things that can satisfy us. Having all this thing without love is like you are dead. Money can buy what you want, but it can't buy love that you need. Cars can bring you wherever you want to go, but it can't bring you to the contentment in life. Precious gems can add beauty to your physical appearance, but it can't add joy to heart. A house just like a palace can make you feel you're a king in your own kingdom, but a kingdom without love is like a huge prison. There is no practical love at all. To love is to persevere, it is facing whatever circumstances that will come, to test how long will you stand and fight for it your love.

Charm Can Be Deceiving

Charm can be deceiving!!!! We can’t deny the fact that we can be easily deceive with good looks. Remember that charm can caught attention, but it can be also a mask for pretension.

Reality check, we often judge first the physical characteristic of a person rather than its characteristic behind its physical appearance. Physical appearance is sometimes contrary to the inner being. Charm at first sight can turn evil into good, and good into evil, it depends on how we are going to judge a person.

This semester, there is a guy who attracts some sienians with his innocent looking appeal. This guy really possesses an angelic charm. Many thought that he’s kind because of his heavenly charisma, but it turned into a huge discouragement when we heard that this innocent looking guy choked a second year BSBA student in our institution.

I never thought that he could do such violence especially to a woman. I’m not judging him anyway, what I am trying to emphasize is that, our eyes can never tell! Clue to this innocent looking guy, he is a fresh future salesman.

Jesus claimed that He is the Messiah

John 4:25-26, The woman said to Him, " I know that Messiah is coming" (who is called Christ). "When He comes, He will tell us all things." Jesus said to her," I who speak to you am He."


Jesus claimed that that the Scriptures testify of Him

John 5:38-39, " But you do not have His Word abiding in you, Because whom He sent, Him you do not believe. "You search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life; and these are they which testify of me. See also John 5:46-47


Jesus claimed the He is the Bread of Life

John 6:35, And Jesus said to them, " I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in me shall never thirst.


Jesus claimed that He came down from Heaven

John 6:38, "For I have come down from Heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of Him who sent Me.


Jesus claimed that He is the light of the world

John 8:12, Then Jesus spoke to them again, saying, " I am the light of the world. He who follows me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life. See also John:13-14, 16-19 and John 8:28- 29


Jesus claimed that He is the Son of God

John 9:35-37, Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said to him, " Do you believe in the Son of God?" He answered and said, " Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" and Jesus said to him, " You have both seen Him and it is he who is talking with you.


Jesus claimed that He is the door

John 10:7, Then Jesus said to them again, " Most assuredly, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep. (In verse 9) " I am the door. if anyone enters by me, he will be saved, and will go in and out and find pasture.


Jesus claimed that He is the good shepherd

John 10:11, " I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep. See also in John 10:14 and 15


Jesus claimed that he is the resurrection and life

John 11:25, Jesus said to her, " I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live.


Jesus claimed that He is the is the way, truth, and life

John 14:6, Jesus said to him, " I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the father except through me.


Jesus claimed that He is the true vine

John 15:1-2, " I am the true vine, and my father is the vine dresser. " Every branch in me that does not bear fruit He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit he prunes, that it may bears more fruit.
